RED ANGUS Victoria - On Farm Challenge 2011

The Victorian Red Angus Breeders issue an invitation to you to enter this years  ‘On Farm Challenge’.

This competition is open to straight-bred Red Angus cattle of Commercial and Stud Breeders within this state. 

CLASSES.

  1. Male under 12 months of age
  2. Bull over 12 months and under 24 months of age
  3. Bull over 24 months of age
  4. Heifer under 12 months of age
  5. Cow over 12 months and under 24 months of age
  6. Cow over 24 months of age (Calf at foot acceptable)
  7. Matron Cows 5 years and older. 

RULES & CONDITIONS. 

  1. All animals must comply with the Red Angus Breed Standard of Excellence. 
  2. Entry Fee of $10.00 per animal plus GST.must be paid in full at the time of entry by closing on Friday, 7th  July, 2011. PENS of Entry Fee is $10 plus GST.  Entries to be sent to Mr. Bob Boote, 165 Ringin Road, DROUIN SOUTH. 3818.   Cheques to be made payable to ‘Vic Red Angus On Farm Challenge’   Note : No late entries will be accepted after closing date.
  3. A maximum of TWO (2) entries per class per entrant will be accepted.
  4. There is to be no special preparation of animals, eg. No fitting and all animals to be unled. All animals must be yarded for them to be judged.
  5. Judging is expected to take 3 – 4 minutes per animal.  If possible on a hard, dry surface in the yard preferable. Each animal will be video taped following the judging.
  6. Animals will be judged on traits using a points system.  The maximum number of points possible is 100.
  7. In case of a protest or dispute, the protest must be lodged in writing within 24 hours of the presentation awards.  The decision of the organising committee will be final.
  8. Everyone is invited to the Presentation Dinner to be held at the Bendigo National Beef Show on Friday 21st May 2010.  Cost per head will be borne by the individual.
  9. Video of the animals gaining placing’s along with the winners of each class will be shown and will be available for purchase. Please indicate if a copy of the video is required on your entry form.
