ON FARM CHALLENGE 2011

Yes - It’s on ! 25th - 29th July 2011.
Victorian members of the Red Angus Society wish to issue an invitation to you to participate in the 2011 ‘On Farm Challenge' to be conducted during the week
25th - 29th July 2011.
Please find a link to the Entry Form pertaining to the competition here or in the Download section. Cattle will be judged on your property conducted by using a points scoring system. Maximum points = 100. The judge will be Mr Dave Bolton, an experienced cattleman and Judge, Cattle Preparer from Maroopna, Victoria..
Entries in the competition are not to be specially prepared.
ie. – no lead-up feeding, no clipping, no leading or preparation is required.
The entries must conform to the Breeds Standard of Excellence.
They just have to be yarded on the day for judging purposes.
A yard with a hard surface is preferable if possible.
Entries must be in the hands of Bob Boote by Friday 8th July, 2011 in order that a schedule of arrangements for the judging can be organised. Late entry will not be accepted however if you need to wait to the last minute, a telephone call to Bob to advise the entry is coming will help enormously.
Presentations to the winners will be made at a special function to be held at a venue to be arranged. This is most likely to be a Saturday incorporating a Get-Together in late August in the Yarra Valley at Rod & Robyn Thomas property.
Get your entries in soon as this On Farm Challenge event is a lot of fun, and it is expected to be keenly contested again this year. I urge all Commercial Breeders to give consideration to entering as we have included a further three classes of “PENS OF” 5 animals, see the entry form for details. Note there is a change in the age groups of the classes 1,2,4 & 5 and the ages are as at the 30th JUNE, 2011, this will make these classes a little more even.
